Davide Sozio (b. 1994 Vicenza, Italy)

BIO
Davide Sozio combines large-scale, site-specific painting with participatory practices to strengthen local identities and promote resilient, sustainable futures. His research examines material sustainability and collective making as acts of community regeneration, generating narratives and imaginaries that address ecological and social challenges. He handcrafts pigments from locally gathered soils, minerals and plant residues, and selects reclaimed fabrics and supports in dialogue with each site, embedding the place’s identity in the work’s colours. Through collective making and reflection he engages adults, students and marginalised groups in participatory interventions that use painting to foster connection, visibility and social inclusion. He studied Visual Arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and holds an MA in Visual Cultures from the Accademia di Brera, Milan.
