The School of Filò / 2025

This collaborative mural was created in April 2025 during The School of Filò, a research and artistic program exploring the social and architectural landscape of the Valle dell’Agno, in Northern Italy. Together with architecture students from the Architectural Association (London) and residents of the Meggiara rural community in Valdagno, we created a large-scale collective mural on the outer wall of the community oven, a space that still plays a central role in the life of the local community. Using earth pigments collected from the surrounding hills and natural binders, the mural celebrates the tradition of bread-making as a shared, ancestral practice, and reimagines the oven as a civic and symbolic infrastructure. It weaves memory, food, and intergenerational exchange into a shared visual narrative rooted in place.
